Sherrie Reed

Sherrie Reed serves as Executive Director of the California Education Lab at the UC Davis School of Education, where directs research and administrative activities for a portfolio of grant-funded projects aimed at improving the educational experiences and outcomes of California’s youth. These projects are grounded in collaboration with public education segments in the state of California, including the California Department of Education, the California Community College Chancellor’s Office, the California Student Aid Commission, and the California Cradle-to-Career DataSystem. Prior to joining the California Education Lab, Sherrie served as the Director of Research for New Tech Network and worked in K-12 education as a special education teacher, school administrator and charter school developer for more than 20 years. Drawing on her history as a school practitioner and charter school developer, Sherrie's research centers on education policy in California, specifically school choice, accountability, finance, and college and career readiness. Sherrie has a Ph.D. in School Organization and Education Policy from University of California Davis and a Bachelors and Master’s Degree from University of Northern Colorado.
