Michaela Krug O'Neill
Michaela Krug O’Neill is an Assistant Research Scientist at the Marsal Family School of Education at the University of Michigan. Her scholarship focuses on educational policies and practices that seek to improve instruction, with a focus on ensuring all children, especially children with disabilities and children from minoritized and marginalized communities, have access to high-quality teaching and learning. Michaela’s research is rooted in understanding the complex work of improving instruction as well as relationships between policy and practice that are shaped by historical, organizational, and political forces. Michaela focuses on national, state, and local policies; teaching and learning practices; and educational partnerships to carry out her work. Michaela holds a Ph.D. In Educational Foundations and Policy as well as an MA in Research Methods from the University of Michigan. Before graduate school, Michaela worked as a high school math teacher in rural New England.
