Held September 24, the webinar examined the experiences and educational opportunities of California’s multilingual learners. Researchers discussed what Latine students, families, and communities want from their schools; enrollment and outcomes for multilingual learners with disabilities; academic gatekeeping affecting English learner-classified students; and lessons California can learn from other states.
The webinar featured Antero Garcia and Alfredo Artiles of Stanford University, Ilana Umansky of the University of Oregon, and Lucrecia Santibañez of the University of California, Los Angeles.
